Testing starts on LGV Est Phase 2 ( 29 Sep 2015 ) ttp://www.railwaygazette.com/news/high-speed/single-view/view/testing-starts-on-lgv-est-phase-2.html
FRANCE: National operator SNCF has started test running on the second phase of LGV Est European. An instrumented EuroDuplex TGV decked out in a commemorative livery began running over the new section of the route on the morning of September 28. Running for 106 km between the end of Phase 1 at Baudrecourt and Vendenheim on the outskirts of Strasbourg, the ?2bn second phase of the high speed line has been under construction since 2010. Tracklaying was completed in March. According to infrastructure manager SNCF Reseau, around 200 test runs are planned to verify the infrastructure characteristics of the new line and its various connecting links. The instrumented trainset will be running at up to 352 km/h ? the specified 10% test margin above the maximum operating speed of 320 km/h. Accelerometers on the train will assess vertical, longitudinal and transverse acceleration to ensure a smooth ride, while further instruments will check the overhead line and pantograph performance. The radio communications, TVM430 and ETCS Level 2 signalling must also be checked. Subject to final authorisation by national safety authority EPSF, Phase 2 is scheduled to open for revenue service on April 3 2016. This will see the fastest Paris ? Strasbourg journey time cut by 30 min to 1 h 48 min. Reflecting funding contributions from the European Union and Luxembourg, regional high speed services will connect Luxembourg and Strasbourg via Thionville and Metz in 1 h 36 min.
Alstom signalling for LGV Est Phase 2 ( 30 Jan 2012 ) ttp://www.railwaygazette.com/news/infrastructure/single-view/view/alstom-signalling-for-lgv-est-phase-2.html
FRANCE: RFF has awarded Alstom Transport and Legrand SA a ?40m contract to supply signalling for the second phase of LGV Est Europeen, Alstom announced on January 30. Running for 106 km between Baudrecourt and Vendenheim, Phase 2 is due to open in 2016. It will complete high speed infrastructure between Paris and Strasbourg, cutting the fastest end-to-end journey to 1 h 50 min. Alstom says that its share of the contract is worth ?30m. As lead partner, the company will be responsible for design, installation and testing work, as well as the supply of equipment including power supplies, cabling and related signalling equipment. Alstom has recently completed work on a similar contract to supply RFF with signalling for the first phase of LGV Rhin-Rhone, which opened to traffic on December 11 2011. 0038名無しの車窓から2015/11/23(月) 15:34:57.35ID:FTlq/hzM Late braking blamed for TGV test crash ttp://www.globalrailnews.com/2015/11/19/late-braking-blamed-for-tgv-test-crash/
The TGV test train that derailed near Strasbourg killing 11 people was carrying excessive speed coming into a corner, an initial report by SNCF has found. On reviewing computer records, SNCF found that the test train applied its brakes a kilometre late, hitting the bend where the high-speed line meets the conventional network at 243 km/h rather than 176 km/h. Eleven people were killed and 37 injured when the high-speed test train, which was carrying railway technicians and their families, derailed on phase two of the LGV Est between Baudrecourt and Vendenheim on November 14. SNCF said it had found no faults with the infrastructure that could have contributed to the incident. The train left the track on a bridge in Eckwersheim, 12 kilometres north of Strasbourg, before plunging into the canal below. Fifty people are thought to have been on board, including the families of technicians carrying out the testing. Andre Claude Lacoste has been appointed to lead an investigation into the crash. In the meantime, SNCF plans to pause the high-speed testing programme and put stricter controls in place as to who is permitted to be on board test trains and at testing sites. SNCF said that although no disciplinary action will be taken until further investigations have been carried out, there could be provisional suspensions for staff “given the exceptional gravity and heavy human toll”. The first 300-kilometre phase of the LGV Est high-speed TGV line was completed in 2007. Work began on phase two in 2010. Dynamic testing of the second phase of the LGV Est line was expected to continue until spring 2016, with the test train reaching speeds of up to 352 km/h ? 10 per cent faster than the line’s 320 km/h operating speed.
